What we collect and why
Booking the Hall
Your name, email, phone number, address, event date and payment details. We use these to manage your booking, take payment and return your damage retainer.
Legal basis: needed to carry out your booking contract.
Enquiries
Your name, email and anything you tell us in your message. We use these to reply to you.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering questions about the Hall.
Mailing list
Your name and email. We use these to send occasional news about village events. You can unsubscribe using the link in any email.
Legal basis: your consent.
Meeting minutes
Committee members' names appear in the minutes we publish on this website.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in being open about how the Hall is run.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it with services that help us run the Hall:
- Squarespace, which hosts this website and stores enquiry form messages.
- Mailchimp, which sends our mailing list emails.
- Our bank, when you pay for a booking or your damage retainer is returned.
Some of these services store data outside the UK. They protect it using safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
Booking records and payment details are kept for 6 years, as required for financial records. Enquiries that don't lead to a booking are deleted after 12 months. Mailing list details are kept until you unsubscribe.
Cookies
Squarespace uses cookies to make this website work and to count visits. You can choose which cookies to accept using the banner shown on your first visit.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- send you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your information, unless we must keep it by law
- stop using your information for the mailing list
Email us at bookings@standishvillage.co.uk and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
